‘Bargain’ Makes History by Winning Best Screenplay at Cannes Series Festival

The TVING original series Bargain has been honored with the Best Screenplay award at the 6th Cannes International Series Festival.

On April 19th, at the Grand Theatre Lumiere in France, Bargain was awarded the Best Screenplay award in the feature competition section at the closing ceremony of the Cannes International Series Festival. This marks a historic moment for Bargain, as the first Korean drama to win a Cannes Series award, as well as the first Korean streaming original series to do so.

Director Jeon Woo Sung, who accepted the award, expressed his gratitude, stating, “Bargain is a work with a very unique concept, and it is an honor to be recognized and invited to the festival. To co-writers Byung Yoon Ah and Jae Min Ah, we did it!”

A TVING official also expressed their excitement, saying, “We are thrilled that TVING’s original series Bargain has accomplished this remarkable achievement of winning the Cannes Series competition section award, the first for a Korean drama and a Korean streaming service series. We will continue our efforts to discover content that can provide entertainment and emotional resonance to audiences worldwide while also promoting TVING’s content competitiveness.”
