IU is ready to show her acting transformation in the upcoming movie Dream directed by actor Lee Byung Heon.

Based on the true event at the 2010 Homeless World Cup, Dream tells the story of former school player Hong Dae (Park Seo Joon) and passionless TV producer So Min (IU). IU plays the role of So Min, a spiritless producer with an empty bank account, who creates a documentary about the homeless national team’s journey to the World Cup.

Somin is a realistic character with top-notch social skills who never loses her smile. IU put a lot of effort into perfecting this character, from learning how to operate a camera to enhancing the details of her acting.

Expectations are high for the synergy between IU and Park Seo Joon, who plays the role of Hong Dae. It is said that the two perfectly captured the intense yet delightful “tiki-takas” between So Min and Hong Dae.

Park Seo Joon praised his co-star, saying, “She’s an actress who does a lot of research about her characters and the project itself. We bicker from the start to the end in the movie, so we had a lot of fun.” Director Lee Byung Heon also expressed his deep trust in the actress, saying, “She prepared so much and showed exceptional performance on the set.”

Meanwhile, Dream is slated for release on April 26th.
