Girls’ Generation member Sunny’s messages to fans about the internal conflict within SM Entertainment have gained attention.
Sunny told fans via Bubble that she also learned about the conflict through the news like everyone else and couldn’t share much information with them. She said, “These days there’s just so much going on in the news that it’s hard to keep up. I’m learning about everything through the same sources as you all, so I don’t really have any extra information to share.”
Sunny continued, “I wish I could provide more information, but unfortunately, I don’t have any inside knowledge about the situation, nor do I have any stocks in SM,” explaining that she would never do anything against the law or go against morality.
In her message to fans, Sunny encouraged them to live with integrity and be cautious in this tumultuous world. She added, “The world can be a scary place, but knowing that I have my fans by my side makes me feel more at ease. I promise to work hard so that I can be a reliable presence in your life and support you in any way I can. Let’s continue to support each other and face the challenges ahead together.”
On March 12th, HYBE Corporation announced that it would not continue its pursuit of fully acquiring SM Entertainment. Instead, the pursuit has been conceded to Kakao, before SM’s general board meeting of shareholders.
