RM‘s personal info got leaked by a Korail (Korea Railroad Corporation) employee.
On the 1st, SBS’s 8 News reported, “Korail confirmed through an internal investigation last month that A, an employee in charge of IT development, accessed BTS member RM’s personal information and ticketing information for non-work purposes.”
She accessed RM’s info 18 times over the span of 3 years starting in 2019, according to the report. A gained access to some of RM’s private info such as his address, phone number, and more.
The investigation into A started when another employee overheard A saying, “I checked RM’s reservation details and went to see him for real” and “I gave a friend RM’s ticketing info so she could get a seat nearby.” It’s been reported that A apologized, “As RM’s fan, I accessed the info out of curiosity. I’m reflecting on my actions.”
Korail stated, “We’ve confirmed that A accessed RM’s personal information, but we didn’t find any proof that she leaked the info to anyone else.” The corporation has removed A from her position and is taking necessary disciplinary action.
After the news hit the wire, RM expressed his frustration by posting the screen grab of the news on his Instagram Story with the emotion “^^;;.” RM is well-known for taking the train alone to visit art galleries in the provinces.
