Netflix has canceled the upcoming press event for Physical:100 after certain participants got swept up in controversies.
The event was scheduled to be held on February 28th following the show’s wrap but was canceled today.
An official from the streaming giant stated, “The production team and we are currently trying to verify the truth about the ongoing claims against a few Physical:100 contestants.”
“We decided to cancel the event as we thought checking the facts should come before talking about our globally hit show with reporters,” they explained.
Earlier, a female contestant from the show was accused of school violence, while a male contestant was accused of having been arrested for domestic violence on his ex-girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Physical:100 became the first South Korean variety show to top the Netflix global chart with an accumulated 140.84 million hours viewed.
