The Glory actress Shin Ye Eun is in talks for the new highly-anticipated drama.
On the 21st, npio Entertainment confirmed that the actress is positively reviewing the offer to star in the upcoming webtoon-based series Jeong Nyeon (literal title).
Set in the 1950s, Jeong Nyeon centers around Jeong Nyeon, who has no money or education but a gifted set of pipes. She enters a women-only theater company, hoping to become rich.
The show comes from The Red Sleeve helmer Jung Ji In and A Time Called You writer Choi Hyo Bi. It’s based on the NAVER webtoon of the same name that was released in April 2019. Earlier, it was reported that Kim Tae Ri is considering her appearance in the drama to play the title role, Jeong Nyeon. The filming will start in the second half of this year.
If Shin Ye Eun joins the project, she’ll step into the role of Heo Young Seo, the best trainee with perfect singing, dance, and acting prowess. She’s the first on the list of candidates for the male lead of Meeranguk Theater Company. People sometimes misunderstand her because of her sassy personality, but on the stage, she’s someone who wants fair competition.
Meanwhile, Shin Ye Eun flawlessly pulled off her first villain role as Young Park Yeon Jin in the Netflix hit series The Glory. Next month, she’s returning to the small screen with SBS’s Romantic Guest House.
