Yeon Sang Ho‘s Jung_E took off its veil.
Jung_E is an upcoming dystopian sci-fi thriller written and directed by Train to Busan director Yeon Sang Ho. Set in the 22nd century, climate change has caused the planet to become uninhabitable and humans fight a war in the man-made shelter. The story follows the people who developed the best A.I. combat warrior by cloning the brain of the legendary mercenary Jung E.
The first batch of photos shows Kim Hyun Joo as legendary mercenary Jung Yi and the A.I. combat warrior Jung_E. Before leaving for the last operation to end the civil war, Jung Yi smiles brightly at her daughter Seo Hyun (Park So Yi) to cheer her up. The photos of her in the middle of a battle give a glimpse into the best leader and mercenary that ever lived to give victory to the allied forces. But having been swept up in an unexpected accident, Jung Yi is reborn as A.I. combat warrior Jung_E.
You can also see Kang Soo Yeon‘s transformation into Seo Hyun, the team leader of the Kronoid research lab who is determined to put an end to the war by successfully creating Jung_E. This is the last project of the actress who passed away last year. Then there is Sang Hoon, the head of Kronoid who is all for brain cloning and A.I. development. Sang Hoon is a man of both passion and humor who’s staked everything for the success of the Jung_E project.
Meanwhile, Jung_E will be released on January 20th.
