Kim Jung Hyun transforms into an absolute being in the new drama The Season of Kkokdu (literal title).
MBC’s new Friday-Saturday drama The Season of Kkokdu is about the grim reaper who comes down to this world to punish humans every 99 years meeting a doctor with a special ability.
Kim Jung Hyun steps into two roles – Kkokdu, the grim reaper who supervises the road to the underworld, and Do Jin Woo, a surgeon at Pilseong Hospital. First, Kkokdu, the one and only grim reaper of the underworld, hates humans’ whims and weaknesses. But even he was a human in the past. However, he forgot who he was and who he was waiting for and fell into resentment, which caused the Creator’s anger.
Since then, he’s been living with the curse of listening to the dead’s grumble in the underworld and repeating murder and swallowing the resentment of the alive in this world. The released photo shows a glimpse into the cruel fate that Kkokdu has to endure and the fury that he carries within him. Then in the other photo, Kim Jung Hyun is dressed like a swordsman, raising curiosity.
The last photo shows Kim Jung Hyun as Do Jin Woo, whom Kkokdu possesses after returning to this world after 99 years. Do Jin Woo, who exudes a completely different vibe, is a surgeon with both skills and fame. He has scars that he got when he got caught up in an unexpected medical accident behind his rational expression. While getting the help of Han Gyeo Jeol (Im Soo Hyang) while trying to uncover the truth, Kkokdu takes over his body.
Meanwhile, The Season of Kkokdu premieres on January 28th at 9:50 PM KST.
