SHINee’s Minho posed for the December issue of Marie Claire Korea.
In the interview that followed, the singer opened up about releasing his first solo album titled CHASE in 14 years of his career. “Actually, I’ve been thinking about releasing a solo album for several years,” he said. “I really wanted to put in the last puzzle, following our members.”
Minho continued to show love for his team, explaining that he chose the name “CHASE” so it rhymes with other SHINee members’ albums.
Minho commented that the time of working on the upcoming album gave him the time that made him focus on giving life to the thoughts and taste that he’d accumulated over the past 14 years. Additionally, he shared that he attempted a pattern he’s never tried before to step outside of the box, raising expectations.
Meanwhile, his new drama, Netflix’s The Fabulous, is also waiting for its release. He introduced this new project as a drama that contains the realistic concerns of young people working in the fancy fashion world. Later, he recalled how he chose a completely different routine in approaching his role, Ji Woo Min, who is described as a man of “unpassion” – which is quite different from the actor himself. Eventually, this new approach helped him put himself down and feel comfortable in his performance.
Lastly, Minho said that his 14-year career as SHINee has made him who he is now and expressed his desire to express himself more diversely.
