Netflix has announced the production of its new original series The Bequeathed, another project of Yeon Sang Ho universe.

The Bequeathed begins when the lead character inherits all the fortune of her uncle that she’s forgotten about. The show follows a series of ominous events as the secret of a family is revealed.

Director Yeon Sang Ho, best known for Train to Busan and Hellbound, took part in the production as a producer and a scriptwriter. He’ll connect the very Korean concept of “a mountain with a family’s gravesite” with the story of a family. The Bequeathed is helmed by Director Min Hong Nam, who acted as Yeon’s assistant director in Train to Busan and Peninsula.

On the 18th, Netflix announced the finalized cast of The BequeathedKim Hyun Joo, Park Hee Soon, Park Byung Eun, and Ryu Kyung Soo. Kim Hyun Joo steps into the role of Yoon Seo Ha, who gets swept up in mysterious cases after inheriting the mountain with the family’s gravesite. This is her second time starring in Yeon’s project, following Hellbound. Joining her in the cast is My Name star Park Hee Soon. He’ll play the role of detective Choi Sung Joon, who’s got a gut feeling that a series of events in the village is related to inheritance.

Then there is Eve actor Park Byung Eun joining the series as Park Sang Min, Choi Sung Joon’s younger boss. He’s a jealous man who holds animosity towards Park Sang Min due to a case from the past. Lastly, Itaewon Class actor Ryu Kyung Soo takes on the role of Kim Young Ho, Seo Ha’s half-brother. He appears out of nowhere, throwing Seo Ha into a world of chaos.
