EXO’s Chanyeol has completed his military service today.
On September 28th, Chanyeol was discharged from his military service. He entered the training center on March 29th last year and completed basic military training before serving in the 9th Infantry Division.
He appeared in military musical Blue Helmet: A Song of Meissa during his enlistment. In March, he also guest-starred in SBS Power FM’s Cultwo Show to promote his musical, along with Jang Ki Yong and ONF’s Hyojin.
Chanyeol is now the group’s fifth member who completed military service, following Xiumin, D.O., Suho and Chen. As he is discharged now, Baekhyun is the only member who is currently serving in the military, and he will be discharged in February of 2023.
Meanwhile, Chanyeol was embroiled in a scandal over his personal life before enlisting. In October of 2020, a woman claiming to be his ex-girlfriend accused him of cheating with over ten other girls.
Ahead of his enlistment, Chanyeol wrote, “I contemplated and thought a lot about how I can protect all fans and repay the love you have shown, but I ended up making you all worried. I will put forth more effort to show that what you believe is not wrong.“
