Hwang Minhyun is in talks to join the new drama Useless Lies (literal title).

According to media outlets, Hwang Minhyun was cast in the new 16-part series Useless Lies. The singer-actor’s agency Pledis responded, “It’s true that he was offered the lead role. He’s positively reviewing the offer.”

Useless Lies tells the story of a woman who has the ability to hear lies and a man who is appalled by lies. The show will add a mystery element by including the disappearance of a woman seven years ago.

Hwang Minhyun showed potential as a lead actor through JTBC’s Live On. After NU’EST disbanded, he chose tvN’s Alchemy of Souls as his first solo activity, showing solid performance. If Hwang Minhyun does join the drama, he’ll play Kim Do Ha, the hottest composer and producer in Korea. He works under his stage name K, and all information such as his real name, age, birthplace, and marital status are veiled from the public.

Kim So Hyun is positively reviewing the role of Mok Sol Hee. She’s given up on enjoying everyday happiness because of the ability to hear lies, but after meeting Kim Do Ha, a new question is thrown into her life.

Meanwhile, Useless Lies comes from Director Nam Sung Woo, whose credits include My Roommate is a Gumiho, Kkondae Intern, and more. He’ll first return to the small screen with the new tvN series Love in Contract today.
