CJ ENM confirmed the cast and production of its new movie titled Possession(literal title).
The film tells the story of a fake exorcist known as Doctor Cheon, who is commissioned to solve the case of a young girl suffering from a powerful demonic possession. Although he cannot see or hear ghosts, he strives to solve the case with genius instincts. This film will mark the directorial debut film of Kim Sung Shik, who previously worked as an assistant director for Parasite and Decision to Leave.
Kang Dong Won will play the fake exorcist, who is also the eldest son of a renowned family. Running a Youtube exorcism channel named “Heaven TV,” he has performed many fake rituals believing that every problem lies in the mental sphere and that it doesn’t have to do anything with ghosts. However, he begins to experience something inexplicable as he takes on a new exorcism job involving a possessed girl.
The actor shared, “The first day of shooting went amazingly well, and we all had great teamwork. I’m looking forward to finishing the remaining takes as the project itself is just a masterpiece.”
Huh Joon Ho will take on the role of Beom Cheon, the villain who contracts power from shamans for an unknown reason.
Esom will star as Yoo Kyung, who visits Doctor Cheon to save her possessed sister. She has a mysterious secret that no one knows about.
Lee Dong Hwi will play Doctor Cheon’s only-and-only Youtube channel partner named In Bae, who is also known as the “Bachelor Kang.”
Kim Jong Soo will appear as Mr. Hwang, who has a long history with Doctor Cheon since their childhood.
