Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area star, Lee Hyun Woo, sat down for an interview and shared what it was like making a TV return after a long five-year hiatus. He plays a genius hacker named Rio in the show.

Regarding the series dominating the TOP 10 on Streaming in the World list for two weeks in a row, he remarked, “I really appreciate it. I am thankful that more fans are visiting my social media. I am very excited to show the best of myself in the future.”

Rio from the Korean remake is slightly different from the original counterpart. The actor explained, “We put a lot of thought into how we could convert the story into our own. The writer and I came up with various ideas to portray Rio more compellingly, given that he is full of internal and external conflicts, including the one with his father. That’s how we came up with the character Rio.”

The star also revealed how his friends and acquaintances reacted to his recent small-screen comeback. He has shown an undying friendship with IU by appearing in her music video right after getting discharged from the military. He commented, “Many of my acquaintances sent me lots of support, saying that they were happy to see a different side of me through this series. They gratefully said that I flawlessly pulled off the character and that I was perfect for the role.”

The celebrity stated, “I am grateful to make a comeback through this project after a five-year break. It is a pricless and meaningful opportunity for me as it is my first-ever Netflix series I can present to global fans.”
