BTS members shared a behind-the-scenes story about the 64th Grammys awards on their official YouTube Channel, BANGTANTV.
Numerous overseas outlets, including BBC, chose the surprise interaction between Olivia Rodrigo and BTS’ V as one of the biggest highlights of this year’s event. A video revealed that his skit with the American singer at the award night was, in fact, brought up by the singer himself.
V’s initial plan was to pull out a card from Olivia Rodrigo’s hands without saying a word to her. However, after rehearsing the part, he realized that it was somewhat awkward and suggested tweaking the plan. He said, “I think it would be better if I say something to her before pulling a card from her hands.” He then practiced his skit and closely went over what he did to perfect the whole skit.
BTS members gathered to spend time with fans after the event. While reviewing their performance, V commented, “I look like I’m actually talking to her, but I just said ‘blah blah blah’ without saying anything real.”
The idol also remembered that his bandmate Jin hadn’t had the chance to shout out “We got this!” before going up to the stage, so he thoughtfully suggested that they should all shout it out once again as a whole team before calling their nights off. After watching the video, fans rushed to the comment section and wrote, “The iconic moment was all planned by V! He must be a genius,” “The way he flings his cards looks very cool,” and “He always brainstorms about what he can do on stage, and that’s why his performance are all different from one another.”
