Koo Jun Yup shared his love story with his longtime love, Barbie Hsu, in the latest episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block.
The singer explained the reason he refrained from saying anything about his recent marriage, saying, “I was afraid that I would lose this precious moment if I get too excited about what’s going on in my life. But while doing so, many rumors started circulating about us.”
He then denied the rumors that his mother opposed his marriage. He said, “One of the Taiwanese news outlets reported that my mother was not happy about our marriage. However, it isn’t true. My mother-in-law really likes me as well. Why would she, as a mother, feel sad about her daughter being over the moon with her beloved one?”
The star revealed how he got to get hold of her for the first time in twenty years. He said, “I thought she was doing well. But after hearing the news of her divorce, I plucked up the courage to contact her.” He explained that he was able to rekindle their love through contacting each other on a daily basis.
Koo Jun Yup shared several photos of them on their first date, reunion and the day they got legally married. He also showed photos of their hands with matching tattoos on their fingers, explaining that they’ve got the tattoos instead of wedding rings.
The show ended with him leaving a lovely video message for his wife. He went, “Hey, Barbie. Thank you so much for accepting me again after twenty years. I will protect, love, and cherish you so that you can enjoy the rest of your life with me. I love you, sweetheart.”
