On the latest episode of MBC’s Radio Star, Psy revealed just how he won the nickname “God of casting.” After sharing how he got Sung Si Kyung to feature on his latest album and persuaded reluctant Lee Seung Yoon to appear on Immortal Songs, the singer brought up the story of how he convinced Song Joong Ki to star in Heize’s MV.

Last year, Song Joong Ki starred in Heize’s MV for “HAPPEN,” which marked her first release since joining Psy’s label P NATION. “I used a slightly different tactic that time,” he opened up. “I texted him for like two weeks just asking him how he was doing. He was shooting the drama Vincenzo back then, and so I texted him things like ‘I’m enjoying the drama,’ ‘Don’t skip meals,’ and ‘Since the seasons are changing, take good care of your respiratory system.'”

Psy laughed as he added, “In the end, he was the one to ask, ‘Please tell me what it is that you want.'”

As for Lee Byung Hun, who appeared in Psy’s “I LUV IT” MV, the singer shared, “Casting Lee Byung Hun for my 8th album took longer. That took about five to six years.”

Hearing how Psy treated the two actors and how he bought a nice dinner for Sung Si Kyung and Jeon So Yeon, Lee Seung Yoon sulkily added, “He wasn’t that sincere towards me. I met him for the first time today. I appeared on the show after being pressured by his authority, then did my best there,” giving a big laugh.
