Kim Min Ha, who plays young Sunja in Apple TV+’s Pachinko, guest-appeared on SBS’ Park Ha Sun’s Cinetown on April 19th. Regarding her rising popularity, she explained, “I recently got a call from an old friend of mine who lives in Canada. It was incredible.”

During the podcast, a fan asked whether her freckles gave her any hard time, to which she answered: “Nobody has talked about my freckles, so I have never really thought about that.”

The star garnered much attention for speaking perfect English during one of her interviews. She said that her mom exposed her to English in as many ways as possible from when she was very young. She jokingly said,” When I was young, I had a hard time studying English. I would cry every day, and I hated learning the language. I would memorize all the vocabulary in the bathroom and skip classes with tears running down my face.”

Recalling the moment when she first met Youn Yuh Jung, who plays old Sunja, the actress said, “We barely came across each other on set. But I once said hi to her when she passed by me. When I met her at the Los Angeles premiere, she told me that all I needed to pay attention to is how I walked on the stage.”

The star also mentioned what it was like to work with Lee Min Ho, who plays Han Soo in the show. She said, “He is very tall. I was starstruck by his acting at the table read. He made me feel at home while I was working with him. We talked about many things while working together, such as personal affairs and roles. He would always tell me that I should act however I wanted. It was nice to have him around as he was so welcoming and kind.”
