Song Seung Heon is boarding the upcoming Netflix series, Black Knight.
Black Knight is set in an air polluted world in 2071, where people depend on respirator masks to breathe. In such a time, delivery drivers play a crucial role within the society’s system as many rely on delivery services for survival. It tells the story of a legendary delivery driver “5-8” with exceptional battle skills and a refugee Sa Wol who dreams of following in his footsteps.
The series is based on a webtoon of the same name, which won the E-IP Pitching Award at the 2018 Asian Film Market. About a month after confirming the casting of Kim Woo Bin, Esom, and Kang Yoo Seok, the show announced Song Seung Heon’s appearance as villain Ryu Seok.
With this, the actor will reteam with director Cho Ui Seok. The two have joined forces in Make It Big, with which director Cho made his directorial debut. In a chaotic world where it is impossible to live without an oxygen ventilator, Ryu Seok, played by Song Seung Heon, is the only heir to the Cheon Myung Group that rules the world with oxygen as its weapon.
