According to multiple media outlets on the 3rd, Casino will air on Disney+ as its original series and begin its filming in February. Choi Min Sik has reportedly signed on for the upcoming drama and is getting ready to star in his first Disney + series.
The drama portrays an eventful life of a man who becomes sucessful thanks to the casino industry. It is an 8-part series written and directed by Kang Yoon Sung, the director of The Outlaws.
Casino is Choi Min Sik’s first TV project in 26 years since MBC’s Love and Separation in 1997. Initially, he was scheduled to work with Kang Yoon Sung in the Korean remake of the movie Intern, presented by Warner Bros Korea. However, the remake project foundered as Warner Bros Korea halted its investment and production in local films in South Korea.
Heo Seong Tae and Kim Joo Ryoung, who played Deok Su and Mi Nyeo in Netflix’s Squid Game, are currently in talks to join the cast of Casino, and Lee Dong Hwi and Jo Jae Yoon have already made their minds to star in the series.
Casino will complete its casting process and start filming in Korea and overseas. The production crew is watching closely the current pandemic situation to comply with the quarantine guidelines and current state of affairs in foreign countries.
