Amid the controversy surrounding Snowdrop‘s political content, Disney+ and JTBC have decided to air three new episodes this week instead of two.
On the 23rd, JTBC issued an official statement, saying, “We are aware that Snowdrop is causing a major controversy among many drama fans. Due to the nature of a series’ production, we cannot reveal everything the drama plans to offer at once. And we are assuming that’s where the misunderstanding began.”
To clear up the controversy, they decided to air an extra episode this week. They added, “the three episodes, which will air from the 24th to the 26th, will talk about Su Ho (Jung Hae In) and how he, a North Korean spy, found himself in South Korea. The drama will go into further details about corrupt power behind the curtains.
They further elaborated, “the play will slowly reveal that the National Security Planning Agency is the one responsible for calling in a North Korean spy into the South as a result of the corrupt collaboration between the leaders of the two Koreas. In addition, the three new episodes will unfold the stories about those young people who wind up getting stuck into a serious political issue against their will.”
They closed their statement by saying that they made the choice “to respond to the concerns raised among viewers,” and added that they will continue to do their best to respond to the concerns in order to continue creating good content.
The three new special episodes of Snowdrop will air at 10:30 PM from the 24th to the 26th.
