SBS’s new Friday-Saturday Through the Darkness tells the story of the first criminal profiler who had to fiercely look into the minds of serial killers at a time when the number of murders with no motivations was rapidly increasing.
And in the center of this highly-anticipated series is Kim Nam Gil. This time, the actor turns into Song Ha Young, Korea’s first-ever criminal profiler. He works in the Criminal Behavior Analysis team at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s (SMPA) Scientific Investigation division. Though he seems emotionless, he’s someone who can look into the human mind more deeply than anyone else.
In the released photos, Kim Nam Gil appears to be investigating a case. His emotionless expression creates a rather heavy atmosphere. At the same time, his cold and dry eyes seem to penetrate everything he looks into. Moreover, his achromatic attire shows a glimpse into Song Ha Young’s psychology.
The production team shared, “Kim Nam Gil is at the center of our drama. He showed a three-dimensional portrayal of Song Ha Young, a hard-to-express character with his outstanding acting prowess and presence. Not only that, he led the scene by taking care of his fellow actors and staff.”
Meanwhile, Through the Darkness will premiere on January 14th at 10 PM KST.
