Lee Jun Ho’s Historical Drama ‘The Red Sleeve’ Gets 1-Episode Extension

The Red Sleeve will be getting one more episode to wrap up the drama as a 17-part series.

On the 9th, Korean news outlet OSEN reported that the MBC’s drama is getting a one-episode extension to deliver a compelling story with a strong ending.

The historical drama series tells an imperial court romance between a court lady who wants to live her life on her own terms and an emperor who puts his country before his love. Lee Jun Ho stars as the crown prince Yi San, who later becomes King Jeongjo, and Lee Se Young plays Seong Deok Im, who becomes his royal noble consort Uibin Seong. Thanks to the fantastic cast and their excellent performance, the drama is garnering great reviews from its viewers.

According to Nielsen Korea, the seventh and eighth episodes recorded average nationwide viewership ratings of 10.7 percent and 10.5 percent, respectively.

The production team is planning to come up with a tight storyline to pay back the love and support they got from the viewers. It’s said that the writers have already completed writing the season, so it is expected that they will finish writing the additional episode in an instant.
