Escape from Mogadishu, which mobilized the most moviegoers this year, became the biggest winner of the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards with five awards.
On the 26th, 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards was held at the KBS Hall. Kim Hye Soo and Yoo Yeon Seok served as the hosts for the fourth year.
On this day, Escape from Mogadishu took home five trophies, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Supporting Actor (Heo Joon Ho). The movie depicts details of the dangerous escape plan of North and South Korean ambassadors during the Somali Civil War in the 1990s. It was released on July 28th and attracted 3.61 million moviegoers.
Sol Kyung Gu won the Best Actor with Lee Jook Ik’s The Book of Fish, while Moon So Ri became the Best Actress with Three Sisters.
