English pop star Ed Sheeran has been tapped to perform at this year’s Mnet Asian Music Awards.
On the 16th, Mnet’s chief producer Park Chan Wook announced that Ed Sheeran would be performing at this year’s awards ceremony during a global press conference held at the Westin Josun Seoul hotel.
The producer introduced the British singer, saying, “Ed Sheeran has ties to the K-pop scene, having co-written songs for BTS, including “Permission to Dance” and many more. He also received much love from our public for his latest song, “Bad Habits.” With him on board, we are preparing to offer a new viewing experience to the Asian public through this upcoming event.”
Presented by CJ ENM, this year’s music awards will run on December 11th at the CJ ENM Contents Studio. Like last year, the awards ceremony will take place in South Korea only. This year, Lee Hyo Ri was tapped to present the awards and the performer lineup included Ed Sheeran, Wanna One, and dancers from Mnet’s Street Woman Fighters. More performers are to be announced soon.
