The production team of the upcoming drama Island finalized its cast lineup, starring Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, Cha Eun Woo, and Sung Joon

Based on a webtoon of the same name, Island is a fantasy occult drama set in Jeju Island. It depicts a despairing yet strange journey of those destined to fight the evil that seeks to destroy the world.

Kim Nam Gil will be playing a tragic character, Van, who confronts evil in preparation for the world’s end but cannot mingle with human beings. He is born with the fate of protecting the world.

Lee Da Hee will be taking on the role of Won Mi Ho, a third-generation chaebol who is also a teacher. Not knowing the fate that awaits her, she was unwillingly sent to the island to take time off.

Cha Eun Woo will transform into the hip Catholic priest exorcist, John. He has a noble calling of protecting life and purifying evil with a hidden dark past.

Sung Joon is confirmed to take on the Goong Tan, who was raised to execute the evil with Van. After a fateful event, Goong Tan stands against Van, adding a thrilling twist to the story.

Island will begin filming in October and most likely air its premiere episode in the first half of next year.
