Chimera is a thriller series that follows a homicide detective, Jae Hwan, who teams up with a profiler, Yoo Jin, and a surgeon, Jung Yeop, to find the truth behind a series of recurring explosions that also killed many people 35 years ago. The title, Chimera, is named after a fire-breathing creature from Greek mythology which is part lion, part goat, and part snake.
Park Hae Soo, who recently captivated the audience in the Netflix original series, Squid Game, will play the homicide detective, Cha Jae Hwan.
Su Hyun, who appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will take on the role of the FBI profiler, Yu Jin, who was adopted by an American family when she was little.
Lee Hee Joon will transform into a doctor, Lee Joong Yeop, who was adopted and raised in the United Kingdom as a child. Though he comes back to Korea after becoming a doctor, he gets caught up in mysterious incidents.
OCN shared, “As well as Chimera, we have a variety of drama series coming up next, including Superior Day (literal title), which is set to premiere in the later half of next year, so please stay tuned.”
