Park Seo Joon is receiving huge love and support in Japan.
Recently, five of Park Seo Joon’s drama was listed in the 20 best selling DVDs on Japan’s Amazon site. As of July 8, Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth came in first and second on the list with four other works, A Witch’s Love, She Was Pretty, Fight for My Way, and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim. In particular, What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim took first to third place in the sales rank of new K-dramas.
With that, the huge interest in Park’s drama shows that he is the face of Korean wave dramas. Previously, his work has received great ratings in Netflix and other online video streaming services (OTT) markets. For instance, Netflix Japan has ranked Itaewon Class second and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim at No.9 on the ‘Overall TOP 10 in 2020.’
Local insiders also shared their thoughts by saying, “Park Seo Joon’s work is filled with healthy and pleasant charms. Regardless of the gender, many show their love in his work.”
