MBC decided to turn a popular webtoon Tomorrow into a drama and confirmed to air on the first half of 2022. Kim Hee Sun will star in the lead role.
The original webtoon, Tomorrow, is a story about an unemployed individual who has been looking for a job. It begins as he meets the messenger of the underworld performing a special mission on an accident. Soon, he gets to join the ‘crisis management team’ of the underworld as a contract-based worker and helps people who are about to commit suicide.
Kim Hee Sun will play the reaper, Goo Ryun. She is a fearless, charismatic leader of the crisis management team at the Spirit Management Headquarters of ‘Flashes of Life,’ a corporate with exclusive rights in the underworld.
Screenwriter Park Ran Kim You Jin, who wrote various sitcoms, pens the script. Also, New Trial (2017) Mr. Zoo: The Missing VIP (2020) director Kim Tae Yoon and MBC Special Labor Inspector (2019) Kairos (2020), and tvN Mouse (2021) producer Sung Chi Wook will helm the production together.
Also, earlier, the production reportedly offered Rowoon the role of Choi Joon Wong, an unemployed guy who will join the ‘crisis management team’ as the latest member.
Tomorrow will be 16-part series and air in the first half of 2022.
