The eighth installment of the School series finalized its cast list.
The School series has continued its success story since 1999, establishing itself as KBS’s representative highschool school series. So far, numerous famous actors had starred in the series, including Ha Ji Won, Gong Yoo, Jo In Sung, Kim Woo Bin, and Lee Jong Suk. And in the coming story, Kim Yo Han, Kim Young Dae, Choi Yi Hyun, and Hwang Bo Reum Byeol will take the lead roles.
School 2021 tells the story of students that pursue their own dreams without going off to college. The series will delve into the dreams, friendships, excitement, and growth of the 18-year-old youths who now stand in front of an ambiguous future.
Kim Yo Han plays Gong Ki Joon, who feels lost after giving up on his dream of taekwondo due to an injury. In addition, Kim Young Dae takes on the role of Jung Young Joo, a transfer student with secrets. Jung Young Joo also shares a secret past with Gong Ki Joon, heralding Kim Yo Han and Kim Young Dae’s bromance.
Choi Yi Hyun will play Jin Ji Won, a tough high school girl with an unwavering dream. The actress will exude a strong presence as a girl who sticks to her dreams despite her mother’s vehement opposition. Lastly, Hwang Bo Reum Byeol will turn into Kang Seo Young. Kang Seo Young is a smart girl who prepares for the entrance exam on her own to enter one of the nation’s top five colleges.
KBS 2TV’s new Wednesday-Thursday series School 2021 will premiere later this year.
