BTS’ ‘Butter’ Tops Billboard Hot 100 Chart for Two Consecutive Weeks

BTS topped the U.S. Billboard main single chart “Hot 100” (June 12th) for two consecutive weeks with their new digital single “Butter.”

On the 7th (local time), Billboard announced that BTS’ “Butter” concurrently claims a second week at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The song also topped the “Digital Song Sales” chart for two weeks straight.

Billboard quoted Nilsson Music Data and said that “Butter,” released on May 21st, garnered 22.4 million radio listeners in its weekly tally through June 6th. And they added, it is a 24% increase from the previous week’s result, referring to Butter’s rising popularity.

According to Billboard, “Butter” is the 23rd song to top the charts for two consecutive weeks, out of 54 songs that immediately reached the top of the Hot 100 chart. It is the second time since “Dynamite” that BTS has topped the Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks.

Moreover, “Butter” gained a total of 20.9 million global streams on its first day of release on Spotify (the chart as of May 21st), setting a new record for “the largest number of global streams per day in the history of Spotify.

Furthermore, it wrote a new history by achieving 18.2 million views, the highest number of views in YouTube music video history, within 24 hours of its release. And lastly, on the 4th, the music video of “Butter” surpassed 300 million views on YouTube within 14 days and 10 hours after the music video was released.
