The police have turned over the woman who spread false rumors about EXO’s Chanyeol to prosecutors for indictment.
According to SM Entertainment, the label has sued the woman who spread false information related to Chanyeol. And the police have handed over the case to prosecutors.
They then added, “It is one of the complaints against artists’ rights violations that we continue to respond to. And we are taking legal actions against illegal activities such as disseminating false rumors and insulting our artists, including Chanyeol.”
In October last year, Chanyeol was embroiled in controversy over his private life. Since then, more rumors about the artist have surfaced, and the agency is taking legal actions against the haters.
Four months after the controversy broke out, Chanyeol officially apologized through Lysn, saying, “I thought a lot about how I can protect the precious hearts of EXO-L and how I can make it up to you as well, and I reflected on how I will not cause you worries again.”
Meanwhile, Chanyeol enlisted on March 29th after releasing his latest film The Box. He will be discharged from the army on September 28th, 2022.
