EXID’s Hani will be making her big-screen debut with the film Young Adult Matters.

Young Adult Matters tells the story of a pregnant teenage girl, Se Jin. Her family and school abandoned her. Se Jin starts a tough journey after her miscarriage with her friend Joo Young, who ran away from home four years ago.

It is Park Hwa-young director Lee Hwan’s second controversial film. Hani plays Joo Young, who helps Se Jin with her miscarriage journey. She will exude a whole new side of her as an 18-year-old girl who smokes and swears nonstop.

In an interview with a media outlet earlier, she shared that she met Young Adult Matters when she was concerned about her future. She expressed her affection for the work, saying that “it helped her make her mind up about her acting career.”

Hani debuted as EXID in 2012 and made headlines when their song “UP&DOWN” sparked a craze. Since then, she has received much love for her endearing and lovely charms shown in various variety shows.

Then in 2020, she started her acting career with the web-drama XX. And Hani proved her potential as an actress with her successful small-screen debut. She also challenged her first SF genre with the Korean original SF Anthology series, SF8: White Crow. Recently, she played 30-year-old announcer Lee Ran Joo in Kakao TV’s original drama How to be Thirty.

Young Adult Matters will be released in April.
