The group introduced the title “Don’t Call Me” at a press conference to mark the release of their seventh full-length album Don’t Call Me, which was aired live on YouTube on Feb 22nd.

Key said that the title track is a hip-hop-based song with very fierce lyrics. “We have attempted fierce songs before, but never had hysterical lyrics. We never had lyrics including words and phrases such as “don’t do it,” “no,” nor “I don’t like it,” but we thought that we had to do something new. Without this much change, we thought that our musical shift wouldn’t be apparent, so we tried adding such lyrics,” he explained.

Taemin also spoke up about the performance of the title song, saying, “It’s a strong and powerful concept this time. You will be able to meet the darker version of SHINee. I think you can keep an eye on the choreography while focusing on the lyrics.”

He continued, “I think this was the most ultimate choreography out of all songs, and modified and upgraded it so that it better demonstrates SHINee’s style. Hope you look forward to it. I’ve had a lot of individual practices and prepared a lot for this album.”

SHINee will release their seventh full-length album at 6 p.m. KST on Wednesday through both local and international music platforms.

This is the team’s comeback in two and a half years. Earlier in 2018, they released their sixth full-length album for the 10th anniversary of SHINee’s debut and swept the top of various global music charts.
