Through the official SNS channel on the 16th, Shin Hye Sung announced that the state of his throat has constantly been bad. “I’ve tried my best not to make it obvious and just went with the program holding it in, but now I’ve decided that I need to take a break,” he said.

The singer, who has been the DJ of SBS Radio Love FM’s Shin Hye Sung’s Music Odyssey for a year and nine months, will be having time off the program. He continued to write, “My heart is heavy writing this, as it is such as sudden and disappointing news. Don’t worry too much as it is not too serious, I’ll take a good rest, get treated, and come back with a beautiful voice.”

The following is the full text of his post:

Hello, this is Shin Hye Sung. Did everyone all have a good holiday?

This is my first time leaving such a long message. There’s something I decided after a lot of thought, so I write this myself to let everyone know.

Starting the first airing on June 3rd of 2019, Shin Hye Sung’s Music Odyssey will come to an end this week after being with everyone for about a year and nine months.

It’s so sudden and disappointing that my heart feels heavy as I write. My throat has been in a bad condition for a while, but I’ve been holding it in so that it isn’t as obvious. But now I’ve decided that I need to take a rest, so I’m sorry to bring such news.

It’s not too serious, so don’t worry too much. I’ll take a good rest, get treated, and come back with a beautiful voice!

Thank you to everyone who loved and cared about Shin Hye Sung’s Music Odyssey, and the considerate production staff who led me. I lacked a lot as a DJ, but with your support and love, I was able to host it happily and comfortably.

I will do my best for the rest of the week to provide you with joy and comfort. Each and every minute and second of this week’s radio will be precious. I’ll stop writing now. Everyone, have a bright night like Hye Sung (T/N: his name means comet in Korean) and see you tomorrow at 8.30 p.m. (KST).
