TWICE’s Outfits Sparks Controversy for Their Sparking Resemblemce of Blackpink’s Outfits

Amid controversy over the similarity of TWICE and Blackpink’s outfits, JYP Entertainment acknowledged their mistake and officially apologized. The costumes in question were included in Dahyun & Chaeyoung’s cover MV of Rain & JYP’s “Switch to Me.” The hanbok worn by the two looked quite similar to that of Jisoo’s in “How You Like That” MV, sparking a heated debate. Soon after the release of the video, Blackpink’s stylist posted part of TWCIE’s MV and expressed her displeasure. JYP left their official statement on their website and wrote, “Regarding the costumes for Dahyun and Chaeyoung’s Melody Project, the hanbok in question was purchased from a hanbok company, but we failed to recognize the similarities. We are truly sorry about this.”

Director Hong Sang Soo‘s new film Introduction has been officially invited to the 71st Berlin Film Festival competition section. Director Hong won the Silver Bear for Best Director with The Woman Who Ran at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival last year and was invited to compete for the second consecutive year with Introduction. This is the fifth time that director Hong’s film has entered the competition category at the Berlin International Film Festival. Earlier in 2017, Kim Min Hee won the Silver Bear for Best Actress with On the Beach at Night Alone.

 

Park Jung Min Remembers the Late Park Ji Sun at the Blue Dragon Film Awards

Park Jung Min, who won the best supporting actor award at the 41st Blue Dragon Film Awards, brought viewers to tears. After getting on stage for his acceptance speech, he carefully shared, “ If I could express my sincere gratitude to just one person in front of the microphone… one person came to mind.” Soon, he teared up as he added, “If I could win an award, I wanted to tell her that I am sorry for not asking her if she was okay and that I will do my best so that she, who is watching me from heaven, will not be ashamed by me.” The person he brought up in his speech is the late comedian Park Ji Sun who passed away in November last year.

closed the curtain with its own all-time high viewer ratings. The final episode, which aired on Feb 14, garnered an average of 18.6% and soared up to 20.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area, ranking first in the same time slot of all channels. It has also recorded 17.4% on average and 19.3% at the peak, and not only is this the drama’s best record but also No. 1 among all programs aired at the same time slot. This is also the 5th highest ratings in tvN history. Its jaw-dropping record continued as they swept the top spot of all age categories from 10s to 50s across the country in the same time slot of all channels, including terrestrial broadcasters.
