Blackpink is going viral in the U.S.
On Jan 31, Blackpink held their first-ever livestream concert “THE SHOW,” and their global fans have tuned into the group’s dynamic performances. The show, which was broadcast live after forming a YouTube partnership, garnered about 280,000 viewers. This is the largest audience for a livestream concert conducted by a K-pop girl group.
According to YG Entertainment, the U.S. recorded the highest share of 19.2% among YouTube membership “YG PALM STAGE – 2021 BLACKPINK: THE SHOW.” The rest of the Top 12 list is as follows: Thailand; Philippines; Japan; Mexico; South Korea; Hong Kong; Malaysia; Indonesia; Brazil; Canada; United Kingdom.
Blackpink, who is only bested by Justin Biber to be the most subscribed artist on YouTube, saw a steep rise in the number of YouTube subscribers after “THE SHOW.” With the addition of 2.7 million, now Blackpink’s YouTube has 56.8 million subscribers as of Wednesday.
