Chosun University concluded that trot singer Hong Jin Young plagiarized her master’s thesis.
According to SPOTVNEWS, the Research Integrity Committee under the Chosun University Research Ethics Team, which investigated Hong’s dissertation, sent an official letter to the graduate school saying they have concluded that her papers had been plagiarized.
The university shared, “We will strengthen our duty of guidance and supervision to prevent violations of research ethics, including plagiarism of papers, and operate research ethics management systems more thoroughly.”
Hong Jin Young recently came under fire when a media outlet suspected plagiarism in her master’s thesis. At the time, she strongly denied the accusation, but on Dec 15, Chosun University came to a tentative judgment of plagiarism regarding her master’s thesis. A few days ago, Hong admitted and released an apology letter.
