MBC decided to take a preemptive measure and chose not to air 6 variety shows this weekend after an MBC employee was confirmed with the coronavirus.
With this decision, Those Who Cross the Line, Show! Music Core, The Paikfather, Buddy into the Wild, Omniscient Interfering View, and How Do You Play? will not be airing their upcoming episodes previously scheduled for Dec 19 and 20.
Park Sung Jae, CEO of MBC, shared, “The safety of cast members, producers and staff members is more important than the loss of the company in these difficult situations, and MBC should take the lead in overcoming the social crisis caused by the pandemic.”
Meanwhile, the company conducted emergency measures and quarantine of the space as soon as they identified the movements of the COVID-19 confirmed staff. And all variety shows that had production staff using the same facilities as the COVID-19 confirmed staff have temporarily postponed their broadcast. They will resume their show sequentially after thorough in-house quarantine.
