BTS Chats About the Very First Time They Received Global Recognition with ‘Blood Sweat & Tears’

BTS talked about how they felt when they first received worldwide attention with their song “Blood Sweat & Tears.”

In the latest episode of KBS’s Immortal Songs 2, BTS appeared to support their producer Pdogg. Talking about behind-the-stories about their songs, members expressed how they felt when “Blood Sweat & Tears” debuted at Billboard 200.

This global superstar’s hit song “Blood Sweat & Tears” became the foothold for them to break into the mainstream in the US market. Recalling the moment when they first partici[ated in the Billboard Music Awards, Jimin said, “I remember every scene. I couldn’t believe it even when I was there.”

Jungkook added, “It didn’t feel real since we didn’t even know that we were going to be like that (that popular).” RM said, “That was when we first started to gain global attention, so we thought something was happening. You know, something big is going on right now.”

When Pdogg was asked about the time, he replied, “We really didn’t expect BTS to win an award. Billboard Music Awards wasn’t broadcast in Korea so we gathered around a computer at Bang Si Hyung’s house. When BTS’s name was shouted out, we screamed and danced together.”

Talking about the song, Suga said, “This is one of the hardest songs, especially for vocals.” Jin added, “I couldn’t get that vibe, so I didn’t do it.” Jimin then said, “This is hard, but the fact that we had to do this while dancing was just…”

Meanwhile, BTS’s “Blood Sweat & Tears” was performed by Yook Joong Wan Band in a country style.
