BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” music video has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. This is BLACKPINK’s second music video to reach such a record.

According to YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love” music video surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube as of 3:09 p.m. on September 2 KST.

With this, BLACKPINK became the first K-pop group to have two music videos with more than 1 billion views. Prior to “Kill This Love,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU” left a footmark in K-pop history by surpassing 1 billion views in about a year and nine months. Now, it has garnered 1.3 billion views.

Another reason why the “Kill This Love” music video is drawing keen attention lies in the fact that the views spiked up recently, a year after its release. This is mainly thanks to the recent mega-hit song “How You Like That” and “Ice Cream.”

In fact, subscribers to BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel increased by about 9 million from 37.4 million when “How You Like That” was released on June 26.

Meanwhile, you will be able to see “Ice Cream” performance at 6:00 p.m. today (September 2) KST in a dance performance video created through collaboration with ZEPETO, a South Korean 3D avatar creator platform service.
