TWICE was summoned out of the blue when Park Jin Young (JYP), the head of the JYP Entertainment, praised ITZY.
On August 18, JYP posted an album cover of ITZY’s new album, and wrote, “The biggest present that an artist can give to their fans is coming back with a better skill set. You can tell by their performance how much they have practiced. So proud of them!”
Among the majority of comments expressing expectations for ITZY’s new song, there are also comments referring to TWICE.
Some wrote, “You said that returning with better skills is a gift for fans, right? I’m a fan of TWICE. I want to get a present, too. I don’t want to hear from other fandoms that TWICE is not good enough anymore,” “If the biggest gift is that, let TWICE practice more,” or “Then you should train some of the TWICE members.”
TWICE had become the center of the talk once again when stage practice video for ITZY’s new song “Not Shy” was released. In the video, despite their comfortable attire and live performance, all ITZY members show off their perfect skills, including flawless choreography and live vocals.
However, TWICE has been embroiled in several controversies after their “poor” performance on the encore stage. Since then, whenever girl groups performed outstanding live performances, TWICE has been brought up to surface.
