BLACKPINK now has the most YouTube subscribers as a female artist.

According to YG Entertainment, the number of subscribers to BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel has surpassed 42.3 million as of 8:00 a.m. on July 24 KST. This is higher in number than Ariana Grande, who had the largest number of YouTube subscribers as a female artist, and is a high number even in terms of both male and female artists, following Justin Bieber, DJ Marshmallow, Ed Sheeran and Eminem.

The number of subscribers to the YouTube channel is considered one of the criteria that objectively shows the stars’ popularity and recognition. BLACKPINK’s record is interpreted as a significant indicator, given that YouTube is the main player in the global music market.

BLACKPINK has been on the rise with their new song “How You Like That,” which was released last month. Their YouTube channel also showed explosive growth, increasing from about 37.4 million people before the release of “How You Like That” to 5 million people in a month.

BLACKPINK is expected to accelerate its frightening rise by releasing their second new song in August. In particular, expectations are growing as a special star has participated in the featuring of the new song.
