Former YG Entertainment Chief Executive Officer and Producer Yang Hyun Suk, who was previously indicted with a summary judgment on charges of gambling, will be formally tried in court. A summary judgment is a judgment that is entered without a full trial.

According to the Seoul Western District Prosecutor’s Office on July 21st, four people, including Yang Hyun Suk, have been forwarded to trial on the 16th. Judge Park Soo Hyun will oversee the trial. The date of the trial has not been decided yet.

Yang Hyun Suk is suspected of gambling a total of $335,460 (Around 380 million won) with four other people in Las Vegas, United States seven times between July 2015 and January 2019.

Yang Hyun Suk was previously forwarded to prosecution by the police on habitual gambling charges, but the prosecution requested a summary judgment on gambling charges, not habitual gambling charges.

  • I don’t see anything wrong here. He gambled in the united states, not in S. Korea. Making a trial for nothing!!! If he wants to gamble let him spend his money. So what!!
