SF9’s Dawoon has been embroiled in a controversy over school violence. The claim that he suffered the school bullying from Dawon was disclosed on social media on July 14.
A, who identified himself as Dawon’s elementary and middle school classmate, claimed that he was bullied by Dawon during his school days and added, “Already my teen is full of inferiority and fear for you.” Dawon’s label responded, “It is a one-sided and distorted claim.”
However, another person, who identified himself as Dawon’s classmate, posted a message on his SNS on July 15, saying, “I was verbally abused by Dawon.” However, Dawon, who has been embroiled in yet another related suspicion, drew the line again, calling it groundless. Currently, A has deleted his social media account and has not made any additional position.
This is not the first time that celebrities have been named school bullies. Recently, NCT 127’s Taeyong was in hot water by his rash behavior in school. It came as A, Taeyong’s middle school classmate who claimed Taeyong bullied his friend in October last year, raised the issue again on June 22, saying, “Taeyong’s apology is not sincere.” SM Entertainment countered by saying that Taeyong had sincerely apologized and compensated the victim, signaling a legal action.
In May 2019, SISTAR’s Hyolyn was embroiled in a school violence controversy. A, who attended the same middle school 15 years ago, demanded an apology, claiming that she was repeatedly assaulted by Hyolyn. In response, Hyolyn said through her agency that she would take a hard-line stance, but later explained that she met with A and solved the misunderstanding.
In the same year, Jannabi’s Yoo Young Hyun left the band when he was embroiled in a controversy over school violence. At the time, claims such as “I was bullied by Jannabi’s member 11 years ago,” and “He would tease me using a lighter, put a plastic bag over my head, and mess up my locker,” were made via social media, sparking up a controversy. Later, the member was found to be Yoo Young Hyun.
Model and actor Kang Seung Hyun was also named as a bully in a controversy over school violence. In April, a person wrote on an online community that “a model/actor who appeared in Believer, Partners for Justice, and My Holo Love was the leader of a group assault.” Kang Seung Hyun’s agency denied all claims, saying they’re groundless, and heralded a legal action.
