IVE’s leader and Fendi ambassador, An Yujin, graced the Fendi 2024 FW collection fashion show in Milan, Italy, on the 21st. An Yujin turned heads in a harmonious blend of yellow and beige, donning a halter neck long dress paired with beige high heel sandals, as she posed on the photowall.
However, it was not just An Yujin’s stunning ensemble that captured the audience’s attention. A moment of controversy sparked as Kim Jones, Fendi’s Artistic Director of womenswear, was photographed next to the singer, placing his left hand on her hip in a manner that quickly became the talk of the town. The situation escalated when, at the end of the photo op, Jones’s hand seemingly glided from An Yujin’s hip to her waist. Throughout the incident, An Yujin maintained her professionalism, showing no signs of discomfort.
This incident stirred up a storm on social media platforms, including i-D magazine’s official X account (formerly Twitter), spreading like wildfire through online communities and drawing mixed reactions from fans worldwide.
Domestic fans expressed their dismay, commenting on the inappropriateness of such physical contact, especially at first meeting. “Touching the hip is rude and akin to molestation” and “I can understand placing a hand for a photo, but why slide it up?” were among the sentiments shared.

“calm down he’s gay” yes and his hand is still way too low. respect is important no matter your gender and sexual orientation, he’s still a grown adult putting his hand where it has no reason to be. y’all touch much younger strangers like this? https://t.co/MKoaB8Z8kb

Can you tell me where in the world this is normal? If it is in a work environment, even more so, personal space must be respected. and I'm not saying it because she's yujin, I'm saying it because she is a woman and a person, she deserves respect.

International fans also weighed in, emphasizing that “I miss the hover hands” and pointing out that “Touching the hip was too much.” Yet, some fans suggested that such gestures might be interpreted as signs of familiarity in other cultures.
