TWICE’s Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo are expected to form a sub-unit.
On the 8th, a post about JYP registering trademarks for “MISAMO” went viral on online communities. As many know, “MISAMO” stands for Mina, Sana, and Momo. The shortened phrase is often used by Japanese fans when referring to the Japanese members of TWICE, and the phrasing has also caught on with TWICE fans globally.
These are some of the comments: “I’ve always imagined these three being in a unit.” “FINALLY, MISAMO UNIT!!!” “I’ve been wishing for a MISAMO unit forever TT.”
When TWICE appeared in Mnet’s SIXTEEN before their debut, Mina, Sana, and Momo relied on each other a lot. At the time, Sana said in an interview, “When it comes to the three of us, we don’t consider ourselves rivals. We help each other endure the difficult trainee life in Korea.”
