The Supreme Court will deliver its ruling on July 3rd for actor Yoo Ah In, who was brought to trial on charges of habitual drug use.

According to legal sources on Monday, the Supreme Court’s First Division will issue its verdict at 10:10 AM KST on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act, marijuana smoking, and aiding and abetting.

The actor was brought to trial on charges of habitually using medical propofol and other substances 181 times between September 2020 and March 2022 under the guise of anesthesia for cosmetic procedures. The investigation revealed usage amounts of 9,635.7ml of propofol, 567mg of midazolam, 11.5mg of ketamine, and 200mg of remimazolam.

He also faces charges for illegally obtaining prescriptions for approximately 1,100 sleeping pills of two types under other people’s names on 44 occasions between May 2021 and August 2023, as well as smoking marijuana with an associate in the U.S. in January last year, even encouraging others to smoke.

Initially sentenced to one year in prison last September and taken into custody, Yoo was released earlier this year after a February appeals court reduced his sentence to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
