A new concept in variety show is about to unfold in Netflix’s Kian’s Bizarre B&B. Set for worldwide release on April 8th, the show follows the unpredictable adventures of webtoonist Kian84, BTS member Jin, and Ji Ye Eun as they run a bed and breakfast on Ulleungdo Island with Kian84’s distinctive imagination steering the ship.
The dynamic between the “rookie” owner Kian84 and his staff is particularly intriguing. Jin serves as the “jack-of-all-trades employee” and Kian84’s mental pillar, while Ji Ye Eun showcases exceptional dedication by even obtaining a boating license for the B&B. Viewers can anticipate a rollercoaster of mishaps and triumphs as this unlikely trio navigates the hospitality business.
The teaser poster offers the first glimpse of the B&B with the vast sea as its front yard, making it hard to tell if it’s actually a guesthouse or a theme park. Under the tagline “When imagination comes to life!” Kian84 smiles with satisfaction while Jin and Ji Ye Eun enjoy themselves, building anticipation. The accompanying trailer previews the birth of a “wildly luxurious 5-star” Kian’s B&B. The oceanside lodging, infused with Kian84’s imagination, rejects conventionality from check-in onward.
Director Jung Hyo Min, who pioneered the B&B variety genre with Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast, emphasized the show’s unique appeal: “‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B’ is a wild reality show that embraces unexpected Kian-like situations as Kian-like romance. In the lodging reality genre, it lacks everything you’d expect and contains everything you couldn’t imagine, following Kian-like thinking.”
Director Lee So Min added, “If you set aside typical expectations associated with B&Bs and instead anticipate unpredictable ‘Kian-like situations,’ you’ll be able to enjoy Kian’s B&B 100%.” Finally, director Hwang Yoon Seo teased, “At Kian’s B&B, there’s the B&B that Kian84 designed, the Kian-like experience of eating food with bare hands, and the Kian-like romance of falling asleep while watching stars only to be awakened by pouring rain.”
Kian’s Bizarre B&B will be available exclusively on Netflix beginning April 8th. A total of 9 episodes will be released over three weeks, starting with 3 episodes in the first week, followed by 3 episodes each in the subsequent weeks.
