Internet users have found a series of 2017 interviews where the late Kim Sae Ron repeatedly praised Kim Soo Hyun—exactly during the time she was allegedly in a relationship with him according to HoverLab Inc., despite being a minor. The allegations have ignited fierce debate despite Kim Soo Hyun‘s latest statement on the matter.
The digital archive has turned particularly chilling as fans revisit THE FACT’s interview where the young actress specifically singled out Kim Soo Hyun when discussing potential romance projects.
When asked about exploring darker roles, Kim Sae Ron responded: “I’d love to take on dark or heavy roles, but of course, I’d also like to try more comfortable ones, too. I’d be interested in doing slice-of-life acting, and I’d love to do K-Dramas about friendship or even a rom-com. Ever since I was little, I’ve mentioned actor Kim Soo Hyun whenever people asked me which actor I’d like to work with. He’s twelve years older than me. But he looks so young, doesn’t he? (Laughs)”

The pattern continued in a near-identical statement to Ilgan Sports, where she noted: “I haven’t really thought about [working with a specific actor]. (Laughs) I’m not sure about a rom-com, but ever since I was young, I’ve always picked Kim Soo Hyun as someone I wanted to work with. I think it would be fun to work on a project together. He is twelve years older than me, but he lives such a ‘young’ life. Haha.”
According to the explosive allegations from Kim Sae Ron’s family members, these interviews occurred approximately two years into what they claim was a six-year relationship between the actress and Kim Soo Hyun.
Despite GOLD MEDALIST’s firm denial of these allegations, social media has erupted with speculation that the late actress may have been groomed and manipulated.

Outraged comments have flooded platforms, with users noting: “Was she really groomed and gaslighted by him?” while others point to her repetitive language patterns about his youthful appearance as potential red flags: “Seeing how a 17-year-old kept repeating the same phrases like ‘looks young’ or ‘young life’ like a parrot… Bleh” and “Young, my a**.”‘
